This is Frank. He and I have been friends for 6 months.
I recently submitted this photo to Calumet for their photo of the week contest and it won for the week of September 17th!
Frank is not a huge fan of having lenses in his face. This 10.5mm lens meant I had to get right on top of his nose. He was actually jumping and growling playfully in front of the camera when I snapped this photo. I love this creature. He is beautiful in so many ways. I am glad that other people appreciate him too. It feels good to be acknowledged by Calumet and to get a little exposure.
Scanned some expired Tmax 3200 I shot in 2006 at the GBH show in Orlando, FL. I remember this girl telling me “It’s too dark in here. Your photos are going to look like shit.” I simply smiled and thanked her for her statement. I wasn’t shooting for perfection. I was shooting to shoot GBH. I think the singer used the word “Faggot” and we were all super bummed. I wish I had a better memory. I do remember the vegan hot dog stand and how infamous it is to this day. Why aren’t there any photographs of my chili cheese dog on this roll?
While searching for inspiration, I came across some negatives from early 2010 and decided to spend some time scanning them. I want to do some darkroom printing as well, as I find many of the images to be quite lovely.
