Inspired by Avedon.
I created these for my Advanced Lighting course. I had such a great time with this assignment. I used delicious, colorful sodas from World Market, adding baking soda and vinegar to create bubbles.
This image is part of my dream series for my Narrative course. My inspiration came from those moments where you never hit the ground. The entire start to the series is pretty self-satisfying. I plan to keep it close and continue adding to it. Now that it doesn’t have a deadline, I plan to explore the concepts with different formats and film speeds. The digital images were a wonderful instant gratification, but I feel film will truly depict the intensity and exotic nature of my alternate reality.
This is Frank. He and I have been friends for 6 months.
I recently submitted this photo to Calumet for their photo of the week contest and it won for the week of September 17th!
Frank is not a huge fan of having lenses in his face. This 10.5mm lens meant I had to get right on top of his nose. He was actually jumping and growling playfully in front of the camera when I snapped this photo. I love this creature. He is beautiful in so many ways. I am glad that other people appreciate him too. It feels good to be acknowledged by Calumet and to get a little exposure.
